In 1929, taking an artistic approach to the study of space, Paul Schatz discovered that platonic bodies can be inverted. This invertible hexahedron belt and its rhythmical movement thus developed were to become central to all of Paul Schatz’s further work. A third basic movement, the inversion (turning something inside out and outside in) was added to the two already known and widely applied movements, rotation and translation.
